It’s also a pleasure to watch the other kids who have never fished before bring in a large trout. So arrive at opening when the fish are biting though anytime is a good time it just may take a little longer to hook one. We fished the big pond with rainbow trouts. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Apple Hill Farm It is located on a beautiful hilltop - the drive and the views were beautiful. They have benches around the ponds and each pond is stocked with a different trout. The trout are amazing to watch they are stacked in the ponds like cord wood. Many people didn’t even know how to use a Zebco reel or tie a knot and he was right there to assist his clients. It’s so nice to see the ponds clean of tree debris and trash kudos to the new manager. Our grandson’s trout at 5 lbs cost $35.00. We met people who came every year and would catch n pay for 10 fish so to afford to do that we figured they didn’t have that commercial fish food taste. The three ponds are feed by running spring water. We’ve fished farm raised trout before but my daughter said there was no taste of that when cooked. We noticed this trip that the place was noticeably more cleaner, staff more helpful and would recommend this as a stop. It took about 1/2 hour but Cole hooked into a beautiful 5 lb trout. ![]() ![]() A heads up go early in the am for by afternoon they have had there fill of food by anglers. This year July 8 th 2018 we stopped with our 7 yr old grandson who loves to fish. For many years we’ve made the trout farm a regular stop just to look at the trout and watch the people fish.
